Bukhara Restaurant – Authentic Afghan Cuisine & Inviting Dining Experience in Kent, WA

We had a wonderful dinner at Bukhara Restaurant. Their menu features authentic Afghan cuisine alongside a selection of Indian dishes, which gave us plenty to choose from. This evening, we focused on the Afghan specialties and ordered the Qabuli Pulao and the mixed grill combo. The staff shared that Qabuli Pulao is considered Afghanistan’s national dish—and it truly lived up to the reputation. The meat was incredibly tender, and the fragrant rice, studded with raisins and sweet carrots, paired beautifully with the house-made chutney. Every bite was rich and flavorful. The mixed grill combo was equally impressive. The skewered grilled chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. I genuinely enjoyed every part of the meal. Our waiter was courteous, friendly, and very helpful, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant is nicely decorated—clean, tasteful, and inviting. The lighting stands out with its colorful and unique design, adding a warm and vibrant touch to the atmosphere. That said, I do hope the restaurant considers a few improvements: being charged for bottled water felt unnecessary—offering complimentary water in cups would be more eco-friendly and appreciated. I also found the portion of the baked bean side dish a bit small, and the two slices of bread served could have used more dipping sauce or gravy to accompany them. I hope they do well. We need more good restaurants in this area that serve authentic, flavorful ethnic food. I also hope they’ll consider offering a weekend buffet—it would be a great way to sample more of their delicious dishes.

My husband invited me to this restaurant for our 4th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed it a lot, and I especially loved the wall decorations. We took a lot of pictures there. Also, it was pretty clean.

One of the best Afghani restaurant in Washington. Amazing food amazing customer service and great environment. The menu highlights the richness of Afghan Bukhara, presenting traditional dishes with remarkable attention to detail. Signature items such as the kabobs are prepared to perfection—tender, flavorful, and skillfully seasoned. The rice dishes, particularly the Qabuli Palau, are fragrant and beautifully layered, showcasing the depth and sophistication of Afghan cooking. Starters such as the chicken tandoori and bolani reveal the kitchen’s commitment to authenticity while maintaining consistency in quality and presentation.

Bukhara Restaurant is one of the best Afghan restaurants in our community, and they have recently opened their doors. They serve some of the most delicious and authentic Afghan dishes, prepared with great care and attention to quality. Their customer service is excellent — the staff are friendly, welcoming, and always make you feel at home. I truly wish them success on their journey, and I encourage everyone to support them and try their amazing food.

Ambiance is great, service was quick awesome. We ordered chapli kabab, burger and dumplings. The kababs and dumplings were great. Burger not so much, may be cause it is not an Afghan cuisine. I am sure the authentic Afghan dishes are awesome.

The Shawarma here is absolutely delicious! The bread is soft, the meat is juicy, and the sauces bring everything together perfectly. One of the best wraps I’ve had — fresh and full of flavor
